What a clever choice to have the dress made by edgy young British designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos. The choice of tiara and no veil was equally show-stopping. Apparently the dress had a low back to show a scar from when the Princess had surgery as a child.
Well, summer is gone and the autumn weather is glorious. I am ready for a great new year and especially two more seasons of "The Lawrence Welk Show" on public television! Yes, as many of you know, we are signed-up again! Who'd a thunk it? Guy and I have several dates coming up that we are really looking forward to, but especially a new, mostly-patriotic show we are putting together for Providence, Rhode Island, Veterans' Day, November We are so proud to honor our wonderful veterans--and on that day especially.
Life is good and I am looking forward to the holidays. I know it can also be hard, but keeping our eye on the good in our life can get us through a lot. Keep the faith, my friends, and remember, two of the most important things in life shared with me many years ago by my friend Ralph Portner -- "Attitude and Gratitude.

It is going to be a good year. I have had good news in just these three days of the new year about two of my friends' good health when none was expected. It encourages me and lifts my spirit to feel they are going to make it. Health is so important and I must tell you that both of my friends have extremely positive thoughts and great expectations.
